How to reactivate soft close sliding wardrobe doors

Are your sliding wardrobe doors banging against the frames?

This useful video shows you how simple it is to reactivate your soft close mechanism. It will literally take you seconds and all you will need is a long screwdriver… and possibly a stool.

How to reactivate soft close sliding doors in 3 simple steps…

Time to reactivate: seconds / Tools needed: a long screwdriver (and possibly a step or stool)

Step 1. Locate the soft close mechanism

For doors that close to the left, as you look at your sliding wardrobe door, the mechanism is on the outside and can be located at the top left of the door approximately 10cm from the door edge.

For doors that close to the right, as you look at your sliding wardrobe door, the mechanism is on the inside and can be located at the top right of the door approximately 10cm from the door edge.

Step 2. Reactivate the soft close mechanism

Once you have located the mechanism, insert the screwdriver to the right of the activator peg that is visible and push the peg to the left. This will push it back into position.

Step 3. Test the soft close mechanism

Your sliding wardrobe door should now glide to a standstill against the frame. If your door is still banging against the frame, the mechanism hasn’t been activated and you will need to repeat the process.
